At twenty-two, Massimo, my father, asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up. There was a university and a passion for literature, and there was the company owned by my family, the result of a long and tiring land reorganization work and an authentic passion for agriculture.
Not without some fear, but with the enthusiasm of those who are preparing to realize their dream, I decided to go further, and that I would not be satisfied with the job of producing grapes and olives, but I would have created a wine of my own, , one of my brand name. Thus, in 1997, Cacciagrande was born, a part of me.
Alongside the ancient Tuscan viticulture tradition represented by the Sangiovese and Vermentino vines, I have oriented the vineyards to experimentation and innovation, following both my personal inclinations and those of our terroir, very similar to the Bolgheri one, famous in the world for its ” Super Tuscans “
Hence the decision to create two innovative projects all mine, around the Viognier on the whites and the Petit Verdot on the reds, which have given us great satisfaction and appreciation from critics and the public over time.
Over the years we have increased the quantity and quality of production;we currently use the important oenological consultancy of Dr.ssa Graziana Grassini (consultant for important top wineries), as well as her agronomic collaborator, Dott. Gabriele Cesolini, to whom I also have a deep friendship.
The family management of the company allows to adopt a particularly rigorous care and attention both in the agronomic management systems of the plants and in the winemaking processes, always with an eye to sustainability, as I believe that a great product is obtained before all respecting the earth.
In this regard, we have equipped ourselves with a photovoltaic and a thermal solar system, in order to be self-sufficient only through renewable energy. We currently export to USA, UK, Denmark, Belgium, Sweden, Germany and Russia but we work constantly to enlarge our sales network.
Our retro labels are equipped with QR code, which is a simple and smart way to provide wine data to the most curious customers, who have a smartphone, directly while they enjoy it.
The great wine-growing vocation of the Maremma territory, the warm and dry microclimate, the choice of the best clones, the long macerations at controlled temperatures, do the rest, contributing to the production of wines of great character, elegance and absolute quality, award-winning on the most important industry guides.
